Newly purchased water cups and bottles may retain a slight odor of food-grade PP plastic due to the manufacturing process (specifically, the plastic molding stage). This is a normal characteristic of new products, and the odor can be removed before first use using the following methods:
Boiling Water Method
First, clean the inside of the cup with a neutral detergent. Then, pour in boiling water, let it sit for two hours, and finally rinse the cup thoroughly.
Milk Method
First, clean the inside of the cup with a neutral detergent. Then, pour in two tablespoons of fresh milk, screw on the lid tightly, let it sit for about four hours, and finally rinse the cup thoroughly.
Orange Peel Method
First, clean the inside of the cup with a neutral detergent. Then, place fresh orange peels inside the cup, screw on the lid tightly, let it sit for about four hours, and finally rinse the cup thoroughly.
